

Wayne Stephen Archibald, husband, father, and grandfather passed on November 3, 2025, to the other side of the veil where he was united with his wife Joyce of sixty-five years, and other family and friends. He is now free from this earthly life and will be an angel to help and aid his family who are still on this earth.
Wayne was born on March 24,1937 to William Wallace Archibald and Inez Augusta Stevenson in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from South high School where he was on the football team. He married Joyce Osborne Archibald on March 18, 1960, in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with two children, Warren Archibald and Allyson Archibald Fox (Henry) and three grandsons, Matthew, Spencer, and Jacob Fox. He dearly loved his family
After graduating from the University of Utah, he obtained a job teaching math, health, and physical education at Hillside Intermediate School in the Salt Lake City School District. He taught there until he retired. After his retirement, he worked for Valley Bank and then LabCorp. He also served in the Army Reserve for six years and loved the United States of America. He loved flying the American flag.
He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them through camping, hiking, family trips to Newport Beach California, BYU football games, and fishing at Flaming Gorge. He also enjoyed supporting his grandsons while they played soccer, basketball, and baseball.
Wayne served in many callings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served as the Branch President of the Wellington Assisted Living Center and his wife served alongside him. Together they served a Senior Service Mission in Nauvoo with others. They fed countless people who had come to perform in the Nauvoo Pageant and other performing groups.
He loved to snack on Symphony candy bars, Christopher’s big cherry chocolate candy, and chocolate covered cashews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and siblings. Survived by his son, daughter, son in law, grandsons’, nieces and nephews
Wayne’s family would like to thank Homewell Care Services for providing exceptional care for our father and grandfather. Thank you, Randy and Taylor for your love, talks, and gentle care you provided. He looked forward to you coming to take care of him.

There will be a viewing for Wayne on Friday, November 7, 2025 from 11:00 to 11:45 am at the Winder 4th Ward building at 951 East 3825 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84106. The funeral will follow at 12:00 pm. The internment will take place at Wasatch Lawn, 3401 Highland Drive, Millcreek, UT.
