Carol leaves behind her beautiful family, her beloved William "Skip" of 55 magical years together. Her loving children Stacey (James) Lasurdo, Jason (Sarah) Viola and Jonathan (Janet) Viola. Her doting grandchildren, Emma, Aidan, Jackson and Conor. Her adoring siblings, Louanne Fowler, Mary Gates, Louis Matthew Gates and Angela Gates.
Carol was a devoted wife to Skipper for 55 years. They met on a blind date and it was practically love at first sight- they married six months later and started their lives together. Carol was a strong woman even at the young age of 18 and knew who she was and what she wanted. She always expressed her opinions whether you wanted it or not lol. Carol was a devoted eldest sibling who provided for her siblings from a young age to present as much as she could. She was a devoted mother who gave her children a loving home, very happy holidays and allowed them to follow their dreams. She always wanted what was best for her children. Carol loved listening and singing along to music of all kinds, on a daily basis, loud and booming throughout the house. Carol earned her Paralegal Studies Certificate and worked for a law firm in Port Jefferson Station until retirement. She was the consummate professional in her work.
When Carol became a Grandma (Mee-maw) she loved playing with little toys with her grandchildren, listening to them tell her about their day, loving their laughter and joy that they brought to her.
Carol's hobbies included; reading, games- Atari River Raid, Wordle, Flower Gardening, the gym, Bowling (in her younger days- with her own left-handed bowling ball), ceramics & crocheting.
She was by far the strongest woman in our lives and an exceptional role model for all those around her. She loved to laugh and get silly with her family. She was able to laugh at herself as she was often clumsy, breaking a finger here or there. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Guests encouraged to wear blue or vibrant colors to celebrate Carol's life.
