Elyssa Ann Katzer

Born August 25, 1988, Elyssa was a loving sister to her two half sisters, Cassandra Vaughn and Christianna Vaughn, who are the daughters of Elyssa’s father, John Gorbert.

She attended Miller Place High School, in Miller Place, NY. She was a brilliant student and participated in Chorus and Volleyball. Elyssa also received her Associate’s Degree from Suffolk County Community College with an acceptance to Stony Brook University to continue her studies in Forensic Anthropology. While attending college, Elyssa worked as a Customer Service Representative, which she enjoyed immensely due to her love of interacting with people.

Having a love of family, Elyssa was proud to be the Godmother of her cousin, Michaela Nielsen; and was a loving niece to her mother’s sisters and brother and their children (her cousins): Patricia Vieira, Paul Vieira (Debbie), Jules Vieira; Jenna Pendl (Darren), Chelsea Nielsen, Mackenzie Nielsen and Michaela Nielsen; Barbara Fisher (Richard), Richard Fisher (Nicole) and Michelle Magnolia (Anthony); Chris Katzer, (Christine) and Michael Katzer; and Susan Norris. Elyssa was also a loving niece to her great aunt Mary Lou Gartelman, husband John and their children Glenn, Mary and Chris.

Elyssa is predeceased by her Grandparents Charles and Ann Katzer and Margaret and Robert Gorbert. Her Aunts Patricia Vieira and Susan Norris and her uncle Richard Fisher.

A visitation for Elyssa will be held Monday, May 13, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes, 1001 Route 25a, Miller Place, NY 11764.

A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, May 14, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at St. Louis de Montfort R.C. Church, 75 New York Ave, Sound Beach, NY 11789.

A committal service will occur Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at 12:00 PM at St Charles Cemetery, 2015 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, New York 11785.
