Captain Jaime D. Kranz-Marks, US Army ret. Born Feb. 16, 1976 entered eternal rest Aug. 12, 2018. She is survived by her daughters, Jessica, Emily and Erica, and her parents, Stewart and Barbara. She leaves her siblings Stewart, Robert, Brian, Tina, Erin and Cheryl. Jaime will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She is a graduate of Mt. Sinai HS having excelled in gymnastics all the way to the pre-Olympic trials at the Parkettes center in Pennsylvania. She also competed in the skills Olympics with BOCES. She attained first place in regional, state, and at nationals in Kansas City, Missouri. At Sanford Brown Institute, she earned her certification in medical diagnostic ultrasound. She entered the Army as a member of the ROTC between her Junior and Senior years of HS training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. She continued ROTC while studying at Adelphi UN, Hofstra UN, and SUNY Stonybrook where she earned her BA. She went on to earn her MBA from St. Joseph’s.
She had a long career in the US Army including 2 tours in Afghanistan with the 82nd airborne during Operation Enduring Freedom, and 1 tour in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom in the Al-Qadisiyah Province. She ended her career at West Point as Chief Military Intelligence Officer attaining the rank of Captain.
