Jason was more than a coworker, he was a genuine true friend. He went out of his way for everyone, and looked out for me many times. I had just lost my father at stony brook hospital right before he started working in our department, and Jason was always there to talk and cheer me up when I was down. He was like a little brother to all of us. He had a great personality, a bright energy and a contagious laugh. He loved his family so much and would speak of them constantly. I worked with jay for 5 years and still kept in touch after we both left stony brook. Jay will be missed tremendously. My heart and prayers are with his family, may you find peace and comfort knowing how loved Jason was. God bless you all. <3

To the Luongo family,Jason had the gift of making everyone feel special.. I met him 4 years ago  and was immediately struck by his insight, and ability to get along with people of all ages .. His generous heart seemed boundless.. He drove me to work in the snow when I was too scared to drive and would call to say" I'm just checking on ya" .. He had great love for his family and his girlfriend.I think what was unique about Jason was although he was in his20s he felt acutely for others and did random acts of kindness with no agenda.. That spoke volumes about the way he was raised, his spirit and character..we need more Jasons in our universe..his passing is a loss for our world
