Josephine was predeceased by her beloved husband Claude, with whom she shared 67 beautiful years of marriage. Together they built a life centered around love, family, and faith. She was the cherished mother of Bobby (Norma), Ronnie (Liz), and Claudia (Bob), and a proud grandmother to Ryan, Keith, Dylan, Alex, and Francesa.
She was predeceased by her brother Paul Bellino and his wife Barbara, and is lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews Paul Bellino, Russ Bellino, Rosemary Mento, Laura Boldin, and Jeff Boldin.
Over the years, Josephine had a successful career working in retail and design. She began as an assistant buyer at B. Altman’s, later served as head of customer service for the upscale furniture company Pace Collection, and eventually became the office manager for a custom kitchen cabinetry store. Her professionalism, grace, and attention to detail left lasting impressions wherever she worked.
Josephine’s greatest joy, however, came from cooking and baking for her family and friends. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, always filled with the warmth of her love and the scent of something delicious in the oven. She loved spending time shopping and dining out with her dear friends — even if she didn’t eat much herself, she cherished the company and laughter shared around the table.
A woman of deep and abiding faith, Josephine was a devoted member of the Rosary Society at Immaculate Conception Church in Astoria. Her spiritual life guided everything she did. She spent much of her day in prayer, even setting reminders on her phone for special intentions. Whenever someone she knew was sick or in need, she made sure they were added to her long prayer list. Josephine took great care to pass along her love of God to her children and grandchildren, sharing stories of saints, the meanings of holy days, and lessons of faith and compassion.
Above all, Josephine was selfless — everything she did was for others. Whether it was remembering someone’s favorite treat, bringing over a small gift like a can of coffee, or sending a batch of homemade cookies “just because,” she showed her love in the most thoughtful ways. Her kindness, generosity, and unshakable faith touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Josephine’s legacy will live on through the love she gave so freely and the faith she so deeply inspired in those around her.
