I met Julie at Porterhouse N.Y. and was instantly taken in by her warmth, enthusiasm, professionalism and compassion.  She was a light! 
I’m thinking of your family during this time and I wish you all a very gentle passage through. I send you comfort.  May Julie’s memory be a joyous blessing for you. 

I remember visiting you at Bouchon Bakery NY, 2016 we looked out at Central Park and you told my husband, Aaron and I, how happy you were that you can look out that window, every morning and say to your self - you made it back and you made it in NYC. I was really proud for you because that’s been my dream too and so many others dreams to make it in the best city on the world. 

Remembering when you were little.  Your job was stacking the poker chips for the Saturday night games. Then suddenly a successful young lady.  Taken from us much too soon.

I had the privilege of meeting Julie at Porterhouse, she had just started working there as our assistant general manager. She was such a pleasant person and we took to her right away. Not only was it her Skills but her fabulous personality. I personally clicked with her right away. I didn’t have the pleasure of knowing her for all that long but for the time that I knew her she definitely will stay in my memory and in my heart. May her memory be eternal and her light shine on.

We met when I started working at Bouchon and what followed was a 17 year long friendship. From the moment we met, there was something about you that instantly made me feel comfortable; we just got each other. Our friendship felt like lightning in a bottle - how was it possible to meet your best friend at work? Whatever it was that brought us together, I’ll be eternally grateful for. You were my touchstone, my truth teller. I always knew if I felt unsure about anything, you’d say just the right thing that brought everything back into perspective. It was no surprise to me that when I moved back to the Bay Area, we stayed as close as ever. We traveled to each other as often as our respective jobs would allow. I loved our late night conversations, which almost always involved Leia barking in the background. But no matter what the conversation was about, serious or not, I always felt infinitely better after. It was like I could put everything down and be myself. We’ve shared so much in our friendship. We’ve had incredible meals (and talked endlessly about them), shared our deepest fears, laughed over the silliest things, found our greatest support in each other and always remained true to ourselves. I have never met a person like you. You held me to a higher standard because you loved me that much. I hope I was the same friend to you that you have been to me. I will miss so many things about you. Your laugh, your wit, your sarcasm, the hugs you gave with your whole heart - those are the things I’ll carry with me and so much more. You’re my best friend, my sister, my person. And, that will never change. I love you Julie, always.

Julie, my sweet baby girl. You were always a scrapper, born 6 weeks early, couldn't  wait to be in this world! Came out fighting and never looked back! I am so proud of the woman you became and all the obstacles you overcame to achieve everything you did! My heart is missing a big piece, love you

Julie , the honor to be your Chef instructor and friend and see you flourish in the Culinary industry made me so proud . I would tell other students about your awesome positive and determined attitude and accomplishments you worked so hard to achieve . You also could handle my Goofy joke's . My energy is with you Julie and I'll be cookin on the other side with ya again ☮💐

JULIE your life was so impressive with accomplishments, nothing stood in your way. This was evident with the list of the hierarchy of the restaurant industry that you rubbed shoulders with. If you were idle at anytime during your career they would seek you out to negotiate a position for you because they knew it was to their advantage to have you on staff. When we would dine out together the respect you would receive from owners and staff was impressive and not from fear but from admiration of your experience and personality. I've lost my NEW YORK FOODIE BUDDY. She even talked me into eating Octopus. Why are YOU gone.........

Oh Jue.  We met when we were just kids. I think 9 or so.  I remember sleepovers and petty fights over scrunchies and waking the parents up playing some silly spaghetti game. We all but lost touch a few years after high school, “adulting” in our own ways. She was the first person I called when my ex and I split up. (After about 5 years or so of not talking.) I couldn’t think of anyone besides her to call. We picked it up like no time was lost. I’m not sure how I would have gotten through all that without her. She was there to listen to me yell and scream and cry, all while being at the ready with a witty comment, a good time, or whatever else it was I needed. I always felt she was a much better friend to me than I was to her.  We all but lost touch again when she moved to New York. More adulting got in the way, I suppose.  But she was always still there. I never felt like I ever lost her.  We never got the chance to get close again. I always hoped we would. The world isn’t as bright with her not being here. I will forever be grateful for the friendship she gave me and the memories that I will always cherish. She was a beautiful person, inside and out. 

What I admired most about Julie was her no nonsense attitude. She was straight to the point and not afraid to speak her mind.  You always knew where you stood with her.  She was a go getter and made things happen.  Always with a smile of course!  Thanks for the many laughs during the Bouchon days Julie!

Julie entered my life and office pretty shortly after Bouchon opened. I had no idea what I was getting into. Julies sassy and outgoing personality mirrored my own. Employees either loved us or hated us,no in between. Between the two of us we always had a comment for everybody and everything,it didn't really matter if they asked for it or not. Julie made me laugh and smile everyday. I will miss her.

I worked with Julie several years ago in Las Vegas. We remained friends this whole time as restaurant workers tend to do. Julie was working in the office back then with Cyndi. For almost 5 years, any free time I had was spent in that office. I was a sous chef then. Working many long hours. Hard work. Julie was there for my comic relief. She was there to help me through tough times. She was there to put the smile back on my face because hers was contagious. I just talked to her. I’m so heartbroken. And I will miss her greatly. 

When I transferred my job to New York, Julie was there also and being a familiar face she offered me in assistance in getting another job or just in general.  She explained to me how to get around as it was my first time in New York and showed me nothing but love.She was ALWAYS supportive and a friend. I will truly miss her.

Girl, Julie, Jules...... Friend..... I was able to spend an amazing 3 years with you in High School. We really got to know each other when we went to Spring Camp, what a disaster. But with you there a school year ahead of me I always knew you would take care of me. Its a darker world with you not here. Your smile was contagious and your laugh was infectious. You truly had a heart of gold, and put others before yourself. It is sad you earned your wings way too soon, but god had other plans. Rest easy my luv.
