Loretta Starace (Hennessy), aged 94, found her well-deserved peace in Heaven on March 30, 2025. Born in the Bronx, NY, to the late Joseph and Loretta Hennessy, she grew up alongside her beloved late brothers, Joseph and Donald.
Loretta lived an extraordinary life, filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. She was a proud graduate of Andrew Jackson High School, where she and her close-knit group of friends, "THE THORNS," lived by the motto, "We Make Men’s Hearts Bleed." She went on to work for many years at the Telephone Company, where fate intervened, and our uncle Pat introduced her to the love of her life, Thomas Starace. Their love story spanned many beautiful years of marriage and their love continues now that they are reunited once again.
An avid traveler, Loretta explored Europe, but her favorite getaway was always Harrah’s in Atlantic City, where, although she never hit the jackpot, she enjoyed every moment with her beloved Tom. She was a passionate Yankees fan, with a special admiration for Mickey Mantle and Aaron Judge. A sign on her wall proudly read, “I could have been a Yankee wife because Tom was scouted by the Yankees.”
Above all, Loretta’s greatest joy was her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and cherished quotes that will be remembered for generations. She will be dearly missed by her loving children: Kathleen, Patricia (James), Thomas (Martha), Mary, Jim, and Timothy (Jacqueline). Her grandchildren that she deeply treasured; Katelyn, Christian, Megan, Christine, Emily, Caroline, Timothy, Patricia, Michael, and Riley.
She is also fondly remembered by her many wonderful nieces and nephews, who adored her just as much as she adored them.
Loretta’s spirit, humor, and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. We are forever grateful to have been part of her amazing journey and blessed to be part of the incredible family she created.
Rest in peace, Loretta. Your love will guide us always.
