

Lorraine was raised in Canada by her loving parents, Irene and Antonio. She shared a beautiful life with her devoted husband, James, to whom she was married for 60 wonderful years. Together they built a loving family and a lifetime of cherished memories.
Lorraine worked as a Postal Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Miller Place, where she was known for her strong work ethic, dedication, and warm personality. She brought kindness and care to everyone she met along her route.
A gifted and creative woman, Lorraine had a deep passion for woodworking, especially wood carving. She created many beautiful pieces from scratch, each telling its own story. She was an active member of the Suffolk County Woodcarvers, where she shared her love for the craft with others. Lorraine was also a talented artist who enjoyed drawing and water color painting, transforming blank canvases into colorful and eye-catching works of art.
In addition to her artistic talents, Lorraine enjoyed quilting and had a deep love for gardening. Known for her earthy and warm personality, she especially loved tending to roses and peonies in her garden. Lorraine was also a member of the Homemakers Club, where she formed many lasting friendships within the community.
Lorraine will be deeply missed by her beloved husband, James; her children Sandra (Dave) Rappolt, Phillip (Maryann) Holmes, Thomas (Karen) Holmes, and Elaine Holmes (Peter Pasterak); her cherished grandchildren Ashley, Tyler, Julia, Lauren, Dan, Elyse, and John; and her great-grandchild, Alex.
Family and friends may gather for the visitation at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes, 1001 Route 25A, Miller Place, NY 11764, on March 11, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and again from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Louis de Montfort R.C. Church, 75 New York Ave, Sound Beach, NY 11789, US, on March 12, 2026, at 10:00 am.
A Committal Service will follow at Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Blvd, Calverton, NY 11933, US, on March 12, 2026, at 12:00 pm.
Lorraine’s creativity, kindness, and love for her family and community will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
