Theresa M. Young

Known affectionately as “Terry” to those who knew her well, she was cherished for her kindness, warmth, and wonderful sense of humor. To her most beloved people, she was “Grandma” and “Granny.” Theresa was the devoted wife of John Young and a loving mother to her two children, Donna and John.

She was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren and a great-grandmother to six great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy. Born in Manhattan, Theresa spent most of her life in Howard Beach, Queens, where she raised her family and worked at JFK Airport. She treasured time spent with family and friends, especially attending the Feast in Howard Beach—and never missed the chance to enjoy zeppole generously dusted with extra powdered sugar.

Theresa will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

A Roman Catholic Funeral Service will be held at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 134 Middle Country Road, Coram, NY 11727, on December 17, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

A Committal Service will follow at Calverton National Cemetery, Wading River, NY 11792, on December 17, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
