My dear friend,

We had some fun times together and I will cherish them forever. Rest In Peace dear Vivian.

My Dearest Vivian, 
Our Friendship almost made it to 50 years. We had the most wonderful times together with our  children-Birthday Parties, Dance Recitals, Weddings, Babies-Riding in your old car with the hole in the floorboard was the best!
You and I had such adventures, much like Lucy and Ethel.
But of course we shared difficult times as well and you were always there for me. Throughout everything you kept that terrific sense of humor, with that precious cackle in your laughter. I hear it now.
You were a devoted wife to Doug. You have been a most loving and dedicated Mother to your children Jeanne, Michele, David, and Brian. Your love for your children was likened to a mother bear and her cubs, very protective, fierce,  and always there for them.

Rest in peace my very best friend.  May you be with your loved ones in  heaven, and little critters too-especially Webster.

It is so difficult to say good bye.

Aunt Vivian was quite a woman! Strong, vocal, opinionated, sassy, with a wonderful laugh like no other. She was an inspiration to those of us women who have come along in later generations; she gave us voice, and we have benefitted from her courageous approach to everything she did. Her strong presence will surely be missed. May her memory live on in all of us. 

I met Vivian  and Doug on a trip that they made to see Dave.  I am so glad I got to meet them both. After they left Arizona,  I kept up with the friendship.  I mourned with Viv when she lost Doug., but she was relieved that his pain was gone.  I too mourn Vivian ' passing. But  I am happy about the friendship that we shared.  I  loved that woman. I am happy that her pain is gone and she is in a better place.  Doug is with her also.  May both rest in peace.  It was an honor k knowing both of you. 

Big Sister….will miss you.  

These last few years our big family was only just the two of us.  We’d often chat on the phone, share all our memories of Mommy and Daddy and so many other things over the years.  Big Sis, I will surely miss your sharp wit and dry sense of humor….I was always in awe.

You were Peekaboo; I was Princess.  When I was little, I remember asking you hundreds of times to read me my favorite  story of “The Little Match Girl”, and you never said no.  Then when I was older, you taught me how to jump rope Double Dutch. I remember how you always loved books.  You were a voracious reader….not many can claim to have read the entire World Book Encyclopedia before eleven years old.  You did.

I remember all those times in the kitchen in Roslyn when you taught me to harmonize.   We did a pretty great  “You are my Sunshine” and so many others.  You loved Elvis and Rock and Roll and so of course, did I.  Lots of memories….seems like yesterday.

The last few years have not been kind to either of us and we supported and encouraged each other and grew closer in the process.   This final battle you fought was the most difficult time for you and all of us who loved you.  We were helpless as we watched you fade away.  I am so sorry for all the pain and suffering you endured in the end.   You were brave beyond words and never complained although I would surely have understood if you had.  

Goodbye, Vivian.  You can rest now.  I will miss you.

A great dinner with La Familia! I’m so glad Vivian came to celebrate my birthday with all of us. 

Aunt Vivian gave me a plaque for my birthday a few years ago.  It read “ Family , we may not have it all together but together we have it all.”  That quote pretty much sums up our family.  It reminds me of our last conversation that Marianne , Judy, and I had the honor to share with her.  We reminisced about times past and reflected on the after life.  We will always treasure that conversation.  Aunt Vivian was definitely a “one of a kind “ type of woman and lived her life on her terms just the way she intended to.  Listening  to all her stories and adventures over the years , her sense of humor was definitely at times quirky but filled with laughter.  Even with her ups and downs , she showed impressive strength and a great laugh through it all, which often inspired me through my own ups and downs.  As we say our final goodbyes, I hope she’s singing her favorite childhood song “ You are my  Sunshine “ with all the angels and her loved ones.  May Aunt Vivian rest In Peace and may her children’s memories be a blessing and comfort to them.  We Love you Aunt Vivian.  Love Margie and Herb.

Ahhh,  Viv - one-of-a-kind - creative, imaginative and don't cross her!   She had her own way of thinking, living and expressing herself.    Deep in her heart she was a loving and giving person.  I have to admire her courage and strength for what she had to endure towards the end.  It was hard, she was scared but she did it with grace.  Brave to the end.  Gotta love her.

Cousin Vivian was a beautiful person.  We always looked forward to seeing her at the cousin's reunion each year.  It was a special time to share all those family memories.  We will miss her greatly.

My Aunt Vivian was a unique woman who danced to her own beat. Growing up, I remember that she always supported me expressing myself outside the conventional box and often stuck up for me when I needed support. I remember her attending my performance events and giving me thoughtful gifts. More recently, I have a great memory of having dinner with her and noticing that even though she was sick, she was still expressing her sassy, unfiltered, authentic self. May we always remember her fearlessness and resilience and honor her by nurturing those aspects within ourselves. May you rest in peace Aunt Viv.

Mom,
I may have been your “son” only by marriage, but I will always consider you to be like a mother to me.
I will miss our debates and disagreements, and especially all the times you would tell me how dumb my jokes were.
But when it came right down to it, you would be my greatest ally and defend me to the hilt, even though I wasn’t one of your “real” children.
I am a better person having had you in my life.
All my love forever.

When I needed you the most you have always been there for me. I have been blessed with a wonderful mother. I will always cherish the memories we shared together  and hold them close to my heart. You have been a very special grandma peekaboo to both Rachelle and Trevor. They love you very much. I will always and forever love you. May you rest in peace.
