Born October 19, 1921 in Forest City, Minnesota to Drusilla (Colwell) and Theodore Huckins.
At the age of ten, Eileen’s family moved to South Minneapolis. She had one year of college and during that time, she studied to be a milliner hat designer. This was in 1941 and later, hats were soon forgotten.
Her joy was her family, friends, sewing, gardening and God’s gift of nature. Eileen had two daughters and one son. As a Catholic family, they were members of St. Lawrence Church. In 1968 they moved to New Brighton, MN. There they continued their trucking business until 1989.
Eileen’s longtime dream was to live at a lake. This dream came true in 1995 when she moved to Pine City. She would say, “God has been good to me.”
Eileen was preceded in death by parents, Theodore and Drusilla; and infant brother, Clayton.
She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Donna Sandberg and Carolyn Geyer; son, Bruce (Lynn) Christensen; grandchildren, Heather, Allan (Angie), Heidi (Eric), Maria (Javin) and Melissa (Mike); 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and by many loving relatives & friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM, Tuesday with visitation one hour prior at Sunset Funeral Home & Cemetery. Interment will follow the service.
