Elaine Ann Hansen

Elaine was born July 16, 1931 to Jasper and Anna Smith in Minneapolis, MN. She was confirmed in Minnehaha Lutheran Church and graduated from Roosevelt High in Minneapolis.

She married Ronald Jenson in 1951 and lived in Minnesota with their 6 children. She loved the country living, sewing, crafts, spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was active in the VFW Auxilary, and taking part in other community activities. In 1983 she married Robert Hansen and moved to Arizona. She liked the weather there and did some traveling. After being in Arizona for over 20 years, she missed the seasons that she was used to in Minnesota. In 2005 she moved back to Minnesota as she said this was her home and where she wanted to finish her life's journey. She loved to take road trips during each season to see the beginning of the flowers, trees and the fields, the smell of fresh cut hay, the beautiful colors in the fall and the crisp white trees in the winter.

Elaine is survived by her sons Kirk Jenson of Hayfield MN, Mark Jenson of Tuson, AZ and Kent Jenson of Rochester, MN, her daughters Melody Cole (Chris) of Kasson, MN and Bonnie Avelar (Henry) of Joplin, MO, 13 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents Jasper and Anna Smith, 6 brothers, 1 sister, husband Ronald, husband Robert and her son Scott Lee.

Elaine always said don't be sad when someone leaves to go to Heaven be happy for the memories that were made, as memories will stay within your heart forever. And remember the angels above will always be looking down on you.

Memorial Services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home, 2250 St. Anthony Blvd. NE, Minneapolis, MN with visitation one hour prior. Interment Sunset Cemetery.
