

Preceding him in death were his daughter Martha Armstrong, and his beloved wife of 68 years Phyllis Conrad. Harold is survived by his daughter Judith Conrad, his son James Conrad, his granddaughters Beth Armstrong and Christine Hagman, his grandson John Armstrong and his great-granddaughter Natalie Hagman.
Born and raised in Northeast Minneapolis, Harold attended Edison High School and went on to the University of Minnesota where he got a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He proudly served in the US Navy based in the South Pacific during World War II where he was raised to the rank of Lieutenant. Upon his return, Harold joined his father Herman in operating the H. Conrad Manufacturing Company, headquartered in Minneapolis. Harold then expanded the company to include divisions in Bloomington, IL and Phoenix, AZ. He was an active member of Zeta Psi Fraternity, The American Legion, ASHRAE and the Zurah Shriners. Having enjoyed a family home in Nevis, MN, he eventually made the Lake Minnetonka region his home and also had a house in Paradise Valley, AZ. Despite his busy professional and family life, Harold was an avid golfer, fisherman and hunter. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Harold's name can be made to the University of Minnesota, Fund #1344: The Harold and Phyllis Conrad Mechanical Engineering Fellowship or The Page Education Foundation, www.page-ed.org. Harold's spirit, generosity and humor will be greatly missed by his family, friends and neighbors whose lives he touched.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 27th 11am, at Westwood Lutheran Church, 9001 Cedar Lake Road, St. Louis Park with visitation 1 hour prior.
