I love you Howie, still miss you so much, hard to believe it is almost a year. Your voice is still on the answering machine, love to hear you say:"This is Howard & Judy", would love to have your arms wrapped around me again.  Will always love you - J.

Today is Howard's 74th birthday.  He would want us to "keep smiling" and remember the good times.  It's still so very hard to accept he has left us (for now).  Minnewawa will not be the same.  We pray for comfort for Judy and the entire Winges family.  Howard was a wonderful neighbor and a great friend.
Happy Birthday, Howard!  We love you and we miss you!

As we're sitting here getting ready for our weekly LE meeting, I can't help but think of Howard. He walked into the office with usually some type of witty comment, or just a general "Top of the morning to you". We, at Larpenteur Estates, have each individually learned an insurmountable wealth of information from Howard and as a group, are much more successful because of his smarts and willingness to teach all of us everything he knew. Last night, I was able to pick up free 2011 calendars from Fleet Farm, and it was only because of Howard's secret of knowing they give them away, that I was able to carry on that tradition! We miss him, we still learn things from him, and Howard will never be forgotten. Love, all of us at LE.

Howard was the greatest! His sense of humor will be keenly missed.  I shall never forget how he teased me about my southern accent.  We enjoyed the visits you made to Tenn to see us.  How disappointed I was not to have been able to come up there to visit.  
I still remember the geniuses he used to set up your "office" at Three Oaks Realty.  (the file cabinets on either end with a door top across them)

Howard was a great man and he'll be missed dearly, he was the one that talked us into going to Disney World for our honeymoon and we loved it so much we go every year as Howard and Judy did.  We'll never forget him and we miss him.  Howard we will keep smiling for you!

Carol Holten called last5 evening to tell us Howard had passed on.  We are so saddened by this.  We will remember Howard as our kind neighbor in Wild Oak who always had time to stop by and say hello.  You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers, Judy.

I was very sorry to hear of Howies passing. He was always good for a laugh. I will miss seeing him at Rosie and Bob's get togethers.

Howard was born 1/1/37at St. Joseph's Hospital, St. Paul, MN 11:30AM, to Arnold A & Signe Moe Winges. He has one older brother, Roger, and the family resided at 342 S. Warwick, St. Paul, MN. He graduated from Murray HS June 17, 1955, St. Paul Vo-Tech, June 9, 1961 completing the Electricity course. He was an electrician and later employed by Peoples Electric as a Project Manager. 

Judy, his wife of 27 years was introduced to Howard thru his work at a Project Manager at the Creamette Company. After visiting Creamette to check ouut the "new voice" on the phone, a dinner date was arranged by Sue, for Memorial Weekend 1982. So so the Saga of the Best 28 years of sharing life with Howie began. He was so full of life, happy person, and enjoyed each day. His children, Dave, Sue Sandy and Dan were a very important part of his life. I view how he treated is girls, and realized I would feel like a queen if he treated me that way! Howard was always good, just a nice person to have as your friend. He had kind gentle ways, and treasured each one of us. He touched our lives, forever, and will always be missed by each of us. We are still in disbelief that Howard is gone. He was always so strong and healthy. You both welcomed our family to Wild Oak and watched over us as if we were your own kids. We welcomed your visits. You gave us a reason to stop for a few minutes when we were wrapped up in our projects--it gave us a chance to pause and joke around or bounce ideas off other (more experienced) "weekend warriors". Judy, I will always cherish one of our final breakfast chats at the Shamrock Cafe. You and I were visiting (non stop) and the guys made their way to their respective cars threatening to leave without us if we didn't stop talking!

Thank you, too, Judy for inviting us into your home even though you were thoroughly exhausted. We appreciate the fact that we had the chance to share a few final laughs with Howard, but more importantly to tell him how much we have treasured our friendships. May God Bless you and give you strength. May you find comfort knowing that your beloved Howard will always be your angel.

Howard will be greatly missed. He was a positive influence on my life and was often uplifting. Howard was a kind and generous man who always had a smile for people. I learned so much about my hometown from Howard. He had a curiosity about life which was infectious.  Howard, your spirit will always be with us and with Judy.

Greg and I have always enjoyed seeing Howard up at the lake.  We will miss his wisdom, his kindness and his smiling face.  He will continue to be a part of the fondness we have for Wild Oak.

I had the pleasure of meeting Howard and Judy at the Amoco gas station 10 years ago. They would always come and visit and get a donut and coffee. I saw them again at the Marathon station south on hwy 65. It was so nice to see their smiling faces. I was/am very saddened to hear of his passing. My thoughts are with you all.

SO SORRY TO READ ABOUT YOUR DAD'S PASSING/  MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU AT THIS DIFFICULT TIME---

I have so many fond memories camping with Howie when I was a kid.  He was so much fun & always made us laugh.  I remember when he taught us how to spot the satellites when we were looking at the stars at McCarthy Beach St. Park.  He was a wonderful man & will be missed by many.  You are in our thoughts & prayers Judy, as well as the rest of your family.
