

Throughout his life Bill was devoted to serving others. He was a Vietnam Veteran and proudly served for 6 years in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Kitty Hawk. After attending Inver Hills Community College, he joined the Roseville Police Department in 1975 as a Patrol Officer and was promoted to Juvenile Officer in 1984. In 1991 he was given a special assignment with Ramsey County Special Investigations Unit for 5 years and returned to Investigations at Roseville PD until retirement in 2000.
Bill is sadly missed and will always be remembered for his love of sharing work stories, many jokes and for his quick-witted humor.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas A. and Ruth H. Sandberg.
Survived by his loving wife, Jean, many cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Friday June 21, 2024 at Roseville Lutheran Church, 1215 Roselawn Ave. West, Roseville, MN 55113. Visitation for 1 hour at 10:00am-11:00am and service at 11:00am, followed by a luncheon at the church. Interment with military honors at 2:00pm at Sunset Cemetery, 2250 St. Anthony Blvd. N.E., Minneapolis, MN 55418.
Special thanks to the staff at Our Lady of Peace Hospice for their wonderful care. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Our Lady of Peace Hospice or Roseville Lutheran Church.
