He was born on May 25th, 1956 in Bolton, England.
Alec is survived by his 2 sons Matt (Danica), and Nick (Angel), his 4 grandchildren Sophia, Annabelle, Sayvin and Theodore, his brother Dave (Tanya), sisters Larissa (Egon), Angela and Ella (Mike), and his many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father Fydor and mother Schenija.
Alec was born to Fred and Shenija Kalashnikov in Bolton England on May 25, 1956. In 1959 the Kalashnikov family came to Canada and settled in Vancouver BC. After completion of his primary and secondary schooling Alec pursued training in Carpentry. Alec would go on to have a successful 35-year career as a Journeyman Carpenter. He lived in the Lower Mainland, in and around Vancouver until he eventually moved to Mission, BC with his wife Barb Kalashnikov where they purchased their first family home. Alec would relocate to Fort McMurray, AB to continue his career as a carpenter and to be closer to his two sons. In 2018 Alec moved back to the place he had always called home Mission, BC. He enjoyed gardening, growing vegetables and flowers. He was also a great cook who loved making exotic meals and even the odd Spanish coffee. He was a proud Father and Grandfather that loved spending time with his sons watching football and having family dinners. His big personality, kind heart, infectious laugh and smile will be missed by everyone that knew him.
A celebration of life will be held on October 13, 2022 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at Mission Springs, 7160 Oliver Street, Mission, BC V2V 6K5.
