Bernadette Margaret Besko

It is with profound sadness and deep love that we announce the passing of Bernadette Margaret Besko nee England, who died on Friday, May 22nd at the age of 80 in Mission Memorial Hospital.

Born on April 9th, 1946, in Vancouver BC at Grace Hospital, Bernadette (Bernie) was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother whose life touched many people in ways both large and small.

Bernie spent a great deal of her career in real estate administration where people were so grateful to be met with her smile and warm, welcoming energy. Whether on the phone or in person, people always felt cared for.

Above all career and creative pursuits, the one thing that brought Bernie the most joy was her role as a mother, and later a grandmother. She delighted in caregiving, baking treats for her daughters, taking part in school events, and hosting birthday parties. She made everyone around her feel like a “VIP.”

Bernie is lovingly remembered by her daughters Carrie and Cristie, her grandsons Griffin and Mason, and her brothers Bill and Robert.

Bernie was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Conrad Besko.

While we grieve this loss, we also celebrate the life Bernie lived, the love she shared, and the countless ways she made the world brighter.

Forever loved. Deeply missed. Never forgotten.
