Earl Schmor was a wonderful man. He arrived in our small town when he was 21 or 22. We thought he was at least 30. Such a good teacher! I was in grade 7 and very much in need of a good teacher.  He started a community school band in the first year he was there. Taught me clarinet.  I also played piano and he made use of me as an accompanist for his various choirs.  He was a major influence in my musical life, and in others  He seemed to connect with everyone and bring out their talents.  My heart is sad at his passing and wish I’d kept more in touch. My sincerest condolences to Ruth and family.
