Born on April 29, 1938, in Oldbury, England, Jean carried her vibrant spirit, generosity, and deep love of family across the world. She is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Paul; her four children (by marriage), Vikki (Steve), Stephen (Helen), Samantha, and Alison (Ryan); her cherished grandchildren, Erin, Matthew, Ryan, Kassidy, Tianna, Reece, and Liam; and her great-grandchildren, Erika, Aiden and Waylon. She will also be dearly missed by many extended family members and close friends across British Columbia and England.
Jean was preceded in death by her loving parents, Ada and Arthur, and her brothers, Gordon and Derrick.
A woman of boundless creativity and dedication, Jean was a naturally gifted artisan. She explored a wide range of crafts over her lifetime—including pottery, ceramics, scrapbooking, wood painting, and handcrafted Christmas decorations. Her creative eye and warm hospitality came together every holiday season, where she hosted the best tree decorating parties in town and welcomed everyone to her legendary Boxing Day buffet lunch, complete with her famous crab mousse, red pepper jelly, and hot apple cider.
Beyond her artistic talents, Jean was deeply passionate about church and family history. She dedicated many years to genealogical research, teaching seminars, and volunteering at the Family History Center, helping countless others uncover and connect with their heritage.
Above all else, Jean loved being a grandma. She treasured every moment spent with her family, enjoyed online shopping, and was an enthusiastic lover of travel. Her warmth, welcoming spirit, and legacy as an exceptional hostess and devoted grandmother, will be cherished by all who knew her.
