Katie is survived by her two beloved daughters, Vialysse and Kianna, her loving partner Yvon, her extended family and an extensive family of friends. Busy as a bee throughout her lifetime, Katie cared for others, managing, feeding, hosting, driving, counselling, bookkeeping, sorting, organizing and volunteering herself for whatever was necessary in the moment. In her spare time, she could regularly be found parenting, gardening, landscaping, beekeeping, cooking, baking, reading, painting and travelling.
A caring and dutiful daughter, an actively invested and supportive mother, a dear and collaborative partner and a best friend to multitudes. Katie leaves behind a vast family of individuals that love her dearly. Throughout a life involving adventures in multiple countries and locations across BC, Katie honed a sharp wit and the grit to develop plans and manage them to success. Whether for herself, or the many times she came to the aid of others, Katie's "can do" spirit was infectious and endearing, leaving obstacles behind in her wake of forward-thinking ability. She finally found her home in Ruskin and nurtured her property into a place of peace and sanctuary that welcomed family and friends with festivities and teas.
Katie's legacy of love, friendship, leadership, indomitable charm and spirit will resound for generations in the individuals she touched. Her positivity and silver lining discoveries helped countless people, in the various businesses she worked at, to serve each unique community with her strong work ethic, good advice and her commitment to managing whatever endeavour she was involved in.
The celebration of her life will be held at Ruskin Community Hall on Saturday, October 10th, 2026 1-4pm.
