In his younger years, Ron enjoyed bowling and the friendships it brought. He was an avid reader who could often be found immersed in a Louis L'Amour novel, enjoying the adventures of the Old West. Later in life, he discovered a love for spool knitting and spent countless hours creating ball after ball of yarn. Much to the amusement of his family, many of those colourful creations were never sewn into the rugs they were intended to become—a reminder that sometimes the joy is found in the making as much as the finished product.
Ron was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Shannon; his cherished granddaughter, Jessica; all eight of his siblings; his mother; his father; and his stepfather.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughters, Reta (Mike), Teresa (David), Ruth (Candace), Shalene (Jeff); his son, Jeff; his 11 grandchildren; his 8 great-grandchildren, his ex- wife/best friend Darlene, all of whom will carry his love and memory forward.
Though our hearts are filled with sorrow, we are grateful for the years we shared with Ron and the countless memories that will remain with us forever. His life was one of perseverance, love, and stubbornness. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and forever remembered by those who loved him.
May he rest in peace.
