

Granada Hills — Anthony Baca, 68, died Friday, November 11, 2016 at home following a battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Maritza (Portillo) Baca; his daughter Maritza Denise Baca; his son, Robert Anthony Baca; his daughter, Christina Marie Baca; his daughter, Priscilla Diane Baca; and his grandson, Leonardo Antonio Baca Echevarria. He was born and raised in San Fernando, the son of Antonio and Micaela (Camarillo) Baca. Anthony graduated from San Fernando High School in 1966 and joined the Army in 1968. He served as a military police officer stationed at the Presidio in San Francisco from 1968-1971. He attended California State University Northridge and earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management in 1975. Anthony met his wife Maritza at Santa Rosa Church, and they were married in 1973. He began his career at Carnation Company, then joined Oscar Meyer and eventually went on to work for Anheuser-Busch where he remained for 30 years. He specialized in Operations and Human Resource Management and retired at the age of 60. Anthony built many special relationships at Anheuser-Busch and remained in contact with many of his colleagues throughout the years. Anthony enjoyed his retirement spending much of the time in the Central Coast. He was devoted to his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandson while coaching and watching him play baseball. He was an avid USC football and San Francisco Giants fan. He had a passion for the outdoors which included tending to his beautiful oak trees and garden, camping and fishing. Anthony was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Third Degree. His faith and belief in God was important to him, especially in his final days. Services will be held at the San Fernando Mission on Friday, November 18 at 10:30 am.
