Aurelia Gonzalez

A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Aurelia is survived by her beloved children Leticia Cruz (Daniel), Maritza De La Cruz, Roxanna Avila (Hugo), and Patricia Gonzalez. She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Danitza Washington (Anthony), Daniel Ricardo Cruz (Brenda), Diego Cruz (Aileen), Joseph John De La Cruz, Jacob John De La Cruz, Mateo Roman Avila, Nicholas Gael Avila, Natasha Gonzalez, and Gavin De Pena.

Aurelia is also survived by her siblings Aurora Perez (Sigifredo), Martha Martinez and Eva De Leon (Tomas).

She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Jose Angel Gonzalez, with whom she built a life grounded in love, family, and faith.

Aurelia is also preceded in death by her siblings Reynaldo Ochoa (Maria†), Laureano Ochoa (Maria Orefelinda), Paula Longoria (Leobardo†), and Rafael Ochoa (Emma).

Aurelia dedicated 21 years of service to McAllen ISD, where she made a lasting impact on students and colleagues alike. Outside of work, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life—spending time with her children and grandchildren, dancing, listening to music, cooking, gardening, walking, and gathering with her beloved sisters.

Her warmth, energy, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
