Monica Larae Grajeda

Monica was a joyous person and was known for being very intelligent as well as genial. She was also a caring, generous woman. She graduated from Merced High School, in Merced Calif. She was in band and chorus. She attended college in Merced and in San Luis Obispo, Calif. Monica was a general manager at Old Navy. She worked in retail for more than 18 years. Monica accepted the Lord 18 years ago and always maintained a positive attitude while being treated for cancer. She always said, “I know the Lord will get me through this...”

She is preceded in death by her father, Salvador Grajeda Sr., grandmother Marianita T. Luzania, grandfather, Francisco L. Luzania and grandmother, Jessia Carillo.

She is survived by her mother Patricia L. Garza, stepfather, Noe Garza Jr., brother, Salvador Grajeda Jr, sister, Catherine Grajeda-Flores, brother-in-law, Pedro Flores, her niece Jessica Flores, and nephews Pedro M. Flores and Dylan Flores, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved her—too numerous to name.

Visitation will be held Thursday Aug. 18, 2011 from 10 am-9 pm at Funeraria Del Angel, 3611 N. Taylor Road in Mission, Texas. There will be a prayer service at 7pm. Funeral services will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Chapel at 10am on Friday Aug. 19, 2011. Internment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission, Texas.
