

There are many things one can say about Severo but those who knew him knowSevero was a dedicated, energetic Individual. He always demonstrated excellence in his profession of Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration.At an early age,Severo knew that thru dedication and hard work… “great things happen.” He was a mentor and a teacher to many in his profession including his own children and friends. He was an organized man and always viewed life in its basic and fundamental elements. In a general sense, he always seemed to live in harmony and peace.Severo enjoyed and took advantage of the many opportunities life had to offer. For those friends and family who knew him best, he was often described in four words…”Proud Hard Working Man”! Although Severo may be leaving fond and wonderful memories with many of us, it is the legacy of his profound dedication of a strong work ethic, which many will forever have etched in our hearts.

Severo Palacios Sr.,was born November 2, 1938 in Monterrey Nuevo Leon, Mexico. At the age of 73, Severo began his journey into heaven Monday evening, August 8, 2011 at Briarcliff Nursing Home in McAllen, Texas. He is preceded in death by his wife, Alicia Herrera de Palacios. Their life together, Severo and Alcia had 10 children which aresurvived by 4 sons- Jorge Alberto,Severo (Alex), Juan Vicente, and SeveroDelfino Jr. Palacios. The 6 surviving daughtersare ,: Nancy R. , Diana E. , Sandra M. , Esmeralda , Norma A. and Francisca M. Palacios.He was blessed with30 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren at the time of his journey into heaven. Severo’s parents are Juan and Marcelina Palacios. His only brother, Genaro Rodriguezand surviving three sisters, Josefina Galvan, Irene Melendez, and Ernestina Rodriguez all of McAllen, Texas.
Viewing will be held Thursday August 11, 2011 between 10:00am – 9:00pm at Del Angel Funeral Home 3611 N. Taylor Rd.; Mission, Texas. Friday August 12, 2011 at 10:00am, Church services will be held at Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Church in McAllen, Texas and burial will take place at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Taylor Rd. in Mission, Texas.
