I still think about John most of the year… a good friend and somebody I could talk to whenever I wanted about sports …. in my memory forever. God bless you, John and rest in peace.

John and I went back over 47 years.  He was the best man at my wedding.  After work at Imperial Bank, we would solve the world's problems over a beer or two (his with ice.)  I became a better writer reading his loan write-ups.  We went to New Orleans in 1982 to see the NCAA Final Four.  John and I saw many a football and basketball game.  His life became complete when he met the love of his life, Vicki.  Friends like him are rare these days.  I will miss him greatly.

I was very sorry to hear of John's passing.  He was a wonderful person and a great friend with whom I shared a lot of cherished memories and fun experiences.  Our friendship forged a very special bond that lasted through the years since childhood.  He had a great sense of humor and was always supportive.  I will always miss John and my thoughts remain with Vicki and her family.  John's death will have a profound effect on all our lives, however, we should realize we had the honor of knowing a truly remarkable human being!

So grateful for the love John brought to my dear friend Vickie. So thankful Richard and I got to enjoy John's humor, joy of life and the celebrations Vickie and John included us in. May you rest in peace, dear John, knowing you were loved deeply. Vicky and Richard Friedlander

I first met John in 1976 as an assistant manager of Imperial Bank in Torrance CA.  I was the new guy from New York who had a lot to learn about  low key Californians compared to high energy, fast talking New Yorkers.  What I remember was his great sense of humor and love of sports especially basketball. We played sometimes after work. We both loved LA Lakers and went to many games at Staples Center.  He was a friend on the job for that year or so and was a friend for the next 45 years. We were especially close when he lived in Rolling Hills near me in Torrance and tried unsuccessfully to ride a $25000 Harley motorcycle.  In later years we met at his annual gatherings at home in Temecula and sporting events Lakers and Rams. He also never forgot to send me a Christmas card and phone call during the holidays.  i consider John my most loyal genuine friend in the California part of my life.

We all loved you John, and it is hard for us to say goodbye to those who have passed away, for we know they will be greatly missed by so many who are left behind. It seems hard to comprehend that you are no longer here, but all the happy memories we have will help to keep you near.
Let us all remember that although we are separated for a time, we will all rejoice one day when we stand together in the Lords presence. WE SHALL WALK TOGETHER AGAIN. Goodbye for now John, and our love will always be present when we mention your name.

My stepdad John was an absolute stand up guy. He always treated everyone with respect, loved talking about sports, couldn’t pass up on almost any kind of dessert (especially chocolate cakes or berry pies) and enjoyed telling us fun stories of his youth. My favorite thing about him though was how much he adored my mom💕 We will miss you Grandpa John so much!🙏🏼🦋
