JUDITH “JUDY” GREENE July 21, 1940 ~ March 29, 2017 Judy Greene passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on March 29, 2017 at her beautiful home surrounded by her loving daughters. She was born in San Francisco, California at Letterman Army Hospital at the Presidio. Being an Air Force “brat”, Judy was on the move starting at a very young age. Judy had a zest for life and enjoyed the excitement of traveling and making new friends as she traveled about the globe. As a teenager, Judy and her parents set down roots in Enid, Oklahoma. It is here that she made deep relationships that lasted a lifetime. Judy met Ronald (Ronnie) Wedel in 1958 and married him in 1959. Together, they had a beautiful baby girl who they named Pamela. Judy and Ronnie maintained a friendship throughout their lives. Judy met Captain Carl Greene at Vance Air Force Base in Enid, Oklahoma in 1963 and married in 1964. Together they had a lovely daughter named Carrie. Carl’s job as an airline pilot uprooted the family and they settled in Orange County, California…at least for a time. During their 45-year marriage (Carl passed in 2009) Carl and Judy traveled the world and made incredible friendships across the United States, including Denton, TX and Naples, FL. Judy enjoyed looking at real estate, playing bridge, decorating her lovely home, painting, swimming and mostly being with her family. Her home was ground zero for family gatherings and everyone was always welcome. There wasn’t anything more important to Judy than family and friends. Everyone loved her grace, generosity, compassion and sense of humor. Judy was a truly amazing and extraordinary woman, always vibrant and full of life and love. She could never do enough for you! Elegant, classy, graceful, strong, loyal, patient, loving, creative, independent, hard-working, fun and faithful are just a few words to describe her. Judy was a wonderful wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Each of these roles meant the world to her and she mastered them with elegance and strength. She is survived by her two daughters: Pam and Carrie; her son: Jorge; her grandchildren: Blaine, Chase and Erin; her great-grandchildren: Madison and Taylor; her son-in-law: Steve and her sister: Ann. Oh, and her rescued puppies, Honey and Sugar. She was beautiful inside and out, a true Jewel that touched everyone’s heart. She will be missed so dearly, but will live on in our hearts and thoughts forever. A Remembrance Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 24th, 2017 at Fairhaven Memorial Services in Mission Viejo, CA, at 11am PDT. A Celebration of Life Luncheon will immediately follow the service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to: The National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation: www.npcf.us/donate
