Ann was born on November 25,1939 in Mobile, Alabama. She was the daughter of Mildred S. Mead and H. Grady Joyner both of whom preceded her in death.
Ann was a member of the Springhill Avenue United Methodist Church. She attended Mary B Austin Elementary School and Barton Academy Middle. She graduated from Murphy High School in 1958. While in High School, Ann was involved in numerous activities and was honored to have served as President of her sorority Phi Gamma Chi, Jr Homecoming Maid, and Student Council Representative. She also hosted and produced her own TV show “Teens News and Views” which was broadcast on Channel 5 in Mobile. After graduation, Ann attended The University of Alabama where she pledged Phi Mu and served as a member of the Freshman Council. She was also a member of the Domino Mardi Gras Society. Ann’s greatest source of fulfillment however, came from her family. As an only child, she always wanted a big family and she found true joy in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She felt wonderfully blessed.
Ann is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years Thomas Ronald “Ron” Maddox; her daughters Kathryn M McNally (Mark), Cyndi M Tarlton (George) and son Bartley R Maddox (Paige); her grandchildren Dr. Paul J McNally (Kathleen), Samuel G McNally (Malissa); Emily T Killion (Will); Ansley T Kuhlke (Scott); Bartley R Maddox Jr (Lindsay), Beau R Maddox and Molly M Maddox; great grandchildren Finn J McNally and Annalise C Killion; as well as extended family and friends.
We are all now at peace knowing she is at home with God and in the arms of her beloved mother, our Mimi, and all of her friends and family who passed before her.
