Anne B Britton Klein

Anne Elizabeth Britton Klein, “Betty” to most of her friends, went Home to be with her Lord on Thursday. She was born in Mobile, Alabama to Lona and Jasper Britton who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Colonel John M. Klein, U.S. Army (Ret), one daughter, Jamie Lee Klein, one son, John M. Klein, Jr., and one granddaughter, Erin Elizabeth Klein Dillard, one sister, Jodie LaFon (Jim) of Dallas, Texas. She was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Britton Smith, three brothers, Jasper Britton Jr., James Harold Britton and William John Britton.

She was an active member of Dauphin Way Baptist Church except for the 30 years she spent moving with her husband while he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. She was a member of the Singing Silvertones Choir at Dauphin Way Baptist Church. She was an avid golfer and served on the Board of Directors of the Women’s Alabama Golf Association for several years helping to direct ladies golf tournaments all over the state of Alabama. She was a winner at many things in life including the game of golf where she won several medals and trophies.

She was a member of the Providence Hospital Auxiliary for over sixteen years where she was well known for her loving and caring spirit. Because of her life here she left this world a better place than when she entered it.

The family will receive friends at Dauphin Way Baptist Church from 10 AM to 11 AM, Monday, December 23, 2013. Interment will be at Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Lottie Moon Missions.
