Betty Hardin Brown

Betty Hardin Brown – an 87 year-old native of Nashville, TN and longtime resident of Mobile passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014. She was a longtime member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, the Junior League of Mobile, and several Mystic Societies and enjoyed dancing golf, and tennis.

Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Rhea Hardin and Mae Francis Betty Hardin. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ernest L. Brown; son, Ernest Ladd Brown, Jr. (Barbara); granddaughter, Mimi Hardin Brown; brother, John R. Hardin; nieces and nephews, John R. Hardin, Jr., Pier Louise Hardin, James E. Brown, IV, Harris R. Brown, Peyton W. Brown, Margaret Sumlin, Florence Maloy, and Willis R. Brown, Jr.; other relatives and friends.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to Dr. Robert Israel, Richenda Malone, Cecilia Lowery, Debbie Schneider, Lois Hearn, April Godfrey, Marsha Godfrey, Starly Anderson, and Maricca Wright for all of their care and support.

Memorial services will be held from St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on Monday, March 24, 2014, at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends in the Parish Hall from 10 a.m. until the service hour. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made St. Paul’s Episcopal Church or Wilmer Hall Children’s Home.
