Brenda Carol Cobb, age 72, resident of Mobile Alabama passed away at Mobile Infirmary after a sudden illness on Saturday, April 27, 2024. She is preceded in death by her beloved parents – Gerald Graham Cobb and Muriel Heath Cobb. Brenda is survived by her sister, Deborah Diane Cobb of Mobile Alabama, cousins and many dear friends.
Brenda was born on March 16, 1952 in Andalusia, Alabama and grew up in Chickasaw, Alabama. Graduating with honors from Vigor High School in 1970, Brenda was an active member of the Vigor Marching Band and Concert Band from 1968 to 1970. She was awarded the First Chair for flute for Vigor High School in 1970 by the First Chair of America, received superior rating on ensemble at the State Band Contest, and was a member of the Mobile County Honor Band. After graduation Brenda attended and received her Business Administration certificate from Twentieth Century College. She was soon employed by the Mobile County Office of the Alabama Cooperative Extension Systems where she retired after 36 years as the Administrative Support Associate II. She was a very active member of the Extension Support Personnel Association (ESPA). Serving on various committees, she held several officer positions including a productive term as President. Brenda volunteered and worked many hours with the Greater Gulf State Fair. After her retirement Brenda devoted the majority of her time to the care of her parents.
A “Roll Tide” gal, Brenda enjoyed watching many a game with Daddy and Debbie. Among her various hobbies, Brenda loved to travel and photograph the sites she visited. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed baking, needlework and crochet – skills she developed from many hours helping Mommy. Brenda was a devoted daughter, sister and friend. She is truly loved and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Graveside services will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Florala, Alabama on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at 11 a.m.
