Bruce Barnard, Sr. - 72, born September 2, 1948, in Mobile, AL., passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, in Mobile, AL after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Bruce was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many.
A dedicated Christian and servant to the Lord, Bruce was a deacon for First Baptist Church of Heron Bay. An avid fisherman, he loved being on the water. He was a United States Navy Veteran who was proud of his service and his country. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #627. Mr. Barnard played baseball and softball throughout Mobile and Baldwin County with the men’s leagues. He was a devoted Alabama Fan. A perfectionist that could fix anything, he was known as Mr. Fix-it.
Bruce’s motto was, “whether I go or I stay, I’m a winner either way!”
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmo and Clotilde Barnard; brothers, Maurice Barnard and Pat Barnard; and a sister, Carolyn LeJuene.
Surviving are his loving and devoted wife, Lina Luke Barnard; children, Angel Barnard Daw (Pepi), Jon Barnard (Becky) and Bruce Barnard, Jr.; grandchildren, J.B., Matthew, Trey, Easton and Conner; siblings, Joyce Francis, Clifton Barnard (Glenna), Tom Barnard (Barbara), Richard Barnard (Trish), Terry Barnard (Barbara) and Robert Barnard (Margie); sisters- in -law, Barbara Barnard and Linda Barnard; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Erica and Springhill Home Health and Hospice for their wonderful care of Mr. Barnard.
Memorial Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of Heron Bay, Coden, Alabama on Saturday, January 23, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a Memorial Service Celebrating Bruce's life following in the church at 11:00 a.m.
