Carl Russell Hemphill

Carl Russell Hemphill - A native of Norfield, MS and a resident of Mobile since 1970, died Tuesday, August 31, 2010, in a local hospital. Mr. Hemphill retired from Scott Paper Company after 25 years of service. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. An avid outdoorsman, loving husband, father, and grandfather, he will be greatly missed by his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Sue Hemphill. Survivors include his daughter, Lee Anne Simmons; his son, B. Clif (Michele) Hemphill; his sister, Julie Ann (Bruce) Bordelon; three grandchildren, Selina (Cliff) Medina, Zachary Hemphill and Kathleen "Katie" Hemphill; other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Saturday, September 4, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
