Chuck was born to Charles Edward Smith, Jr. and Josephine Duggan Smith on December 1, 1946, in Greensboro, Alabama. He had a wonderful childhood. Chuck worked with the United States National Guard for 16 years and retired from Bellsouth (AT&T) after 45 years. He loved duck hunting, fishing, piddling in his shed, and watching football.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents and two of his three sons, Charles “Jason” Smith and Jeremy Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa Smith; son, Benjamin Smith; grandson, Caleb Smith; and one brother, Wes Smith.
Visitation for Chuck will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, Alabama with a chapel service immediately following. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
Acting as pallbearers will be Bernie Frazier, Justin Stewart Thomas, Wesley Smith James, and Aaron Aguillard. The honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Aguillard (longtime friend and neighbor), other honorary pallbearers will be David Cooper (longtime friend and coworker that worked many nights together).
