The Lord is there to see you through; He’ll go to all extremes.
So if your cross seems hard to bear; and you know not what to do;
The One who loves you most of all will be there to see you through.
We are in this world for a limited time, and with the breath of the infant begins the race to the grave. A race everyone must run.
Christopher Todd Harold was 58 years old when he finished his earthly life and went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Chris was a joyful person who loved to laugh, loved to share a good joke and loved his family and many friends. He was generous, kind to everyone, and loved his cats. He graduated high school in 1981 at Independent Methodist School and college with a Bachelor of Science at University of South Alabama in 1998. He also attended Southeast College of Technology and graduated in 1988. Chris played baseball and was a power hitter for his team in high school. He was a huge fan of Atlanta Braves baseball, Alabama football and the New Orleans Saints football. Chris was a musical person and could tell you the top hits all the way back to the 60s. Many times his family would tell him that he was better than Casey Kasem, a math wiz he could tell square roots and percentages in seconds without a calculator! His mind was always trying to figure out how he could better the lives of others. He loved church, especially Sunday School where he made lots of friends. He enjoyed singing and his favorite hymn was sung frequently at Dauphin Way Baptist Church where he attended the last few months of his life and as a child. Chris was a sentimental person and loved oldies rock and old hymns. Some of his favorites were: “Holy, Holy, Holy”, “The Sound of Silence”, “Evergreen”, “What Child is This”, “Amazing Grace”, “Yellow Submarine”, “What a Wonderful World”, and “Come Saturday Morning”.
Chris leaves behind on this earth his paternal grandmother who raised him, Irma Harold; his father, Andy Harold of Carson City, NV; his half brother, Maurice Harold of Reno, NV; two children, Noelle and Joel Harold; three grandchildren, Ava and Cameron Gill and Gabrielle Chinkers; his former wife, Tammy Harold; his aunt and uncle, Mereau and Fred Tacon; many cousins and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Elaine Harold; his maternal grandparents, Clifton and Mary Jones; his paternal grandfather who raised him, Ralph Harold, Sr.; and his uncle, Joe Charles Jones.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Pine Crest Funeral Home. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. with chapel service at 11 a.m. followed by graveside services and interment in Pine Crest Cemetery.
"When I must leave you for a little while
Please do not grieve and shed wild tears
And hug your sorrow to you through the years.
But start out bravely with a gallant smile;
And for my sake and in my name
Live on and do all things the same,
Feed not your loneliness on empty days,
But fill each waking hour in useful ways,
Reach out your hand in comfort and in cheer
And I in turn will comfort you and hold you near,
And never, never be afraid to die,
For I am waiting for you in the sky!"
