
Born on July 15, 1917, in Geiger, Alabama, he came to the Mobile area in the early 1940s, he resided in Wilmer, Alabama for over sixty-five years. He was a faithful member-servant in the Wilmer United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister, and his beloved wife of 63 years, Fannie Maude Holley Eaves.
Mr. Eaves is survived by three daughters, Alice Lewis, Emily (Wynton) Hodges and Claudette (Gaines) Todd; and one son, Kevin (Tisha) Eaves. He was a loving grandfather to ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great, great-grandchild. He also leaves behind special family members, Neel (Sylvia) Lavender, Neely (Sharon) Lavender and Susie (Glen) Sanders; along with many extended family members.
Claude was a veteran of World War II, serving during the European, African, Middle Eastern, and Rhineland campaigns. As a First Sergeant, he was awarded the Bronze Star and other service awards.
Services celebrating his life will be held from Wilmer United Methodist Church on Thursday, December 15, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Gail Baughman officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Interment will follow in Wilmer Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Chuck Brown, Steve Brown, Randy Hodges, Corey Eaves, Justin Eaves, and Milton Pledger.
