Bishop Clifton Enlers quietly and peacefully exchanged his life for eternal glory on July 21, 2022. He was born July 3, 1934, to the parentage of the late Sam Enlers and Alma Sampson Enlers of Prichard, AL. He met Dorothy Jackson and invited her to his boxing match and that was the first time he had gotten knocked out. He was united in holy matrimony to the love of his life, Dorothy Jackson Enlers, on September 28, 1957, and to this sacred union three children were born. The loving couple joined the Washington Memorial A.O.H. Church in search of the new birth in Christ Jesus and found all that they were looking for. Brother Enlers traded his boxing gloves for a bible and gave himself wholeheartedly to Christ Jesus and his word. Brother Enlers became Reverend Enlers, and the favor of God was upon him. His enthusiasm was contagious, and he grew mightily in the word and spirit of God. Witnessing to all that would listen, he became a soul winner for Christ. Christ opened many doors for him and he kept growing. From Pastor to Elder, Elder to Overseer, Overseer to District Overseer, District Overseer to Bishop-Elect, and finally ordained as Bishop. Bishop Enlers was known for building churches and making disciples. Bishop Enlers was sent to pastor Axis AOH in 1972, he pastored there until they outgrew the building. He was then transferred to St. John AOH Church on W Main St. in Prichard, AL “The Church of the Young People, Where Even the Old Have the Spirit of Youth.” He then continued the work of pastoring, witnessing, and building so much that the people were coming from every where. They outgrew St. John AOH Church, and God blessed him to purchase St. John Cathedral on S Wilson Ave. From there he pastored, witnessed, preached, and taught until his retirement. Bishop Enlers served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was employed by International Paper Company. His hobbies were upholstery and greenery. His boxing career was unmatched, he was a "Weather Weight Boxer".
