

Capt. Daniel Paul Ward, Jr., City of Mobile Fire Dept. Retired (1942-1984), born March 2, 1923 in Milton, FL, passed away peacefully in his home on March 10, 2012 at the age of 89. He was preceded in death by his first wife Jimmie Ward, his second wife Helen Ward, two sons Dennis (Kaye) Ward and Wayne Ward and dearest friend Marvin Bell.
He is survived by one son Mark (Sandy) Ward, one grandson Stephen (Heather) Ward (Birmingham, AL), two granddaughters Crystal Ward and Angela Flynn, New Baden, IL, 3 great grandchildren, one step-daughter Linnie (Roger) Nelson, one step-son Bobby (Ana) Stage,Santa Rosa, FL, Nieces, Nephews and other relatives.
Paul was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors and served in the Civilian Conservation Corps before joining the Mobile Fire Department in 1942. He retired in 1984 from the MFD after 42 years of service. The family would like to offer their heartfelt appreciation to Ms. Brunella Miller for the loving care she provided to her "Mr. Paul" during his time of need and also for their shared love of old western movies.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 from 5 pm to 8 pm at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 14 at 10:00 am in the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home with internment to follow at Pine Crest Cemetery on Dauphin Island Parkway.
