The visitation will be 5:00-6:00 pm on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Radney Funeral Home in Mobile, Alabama. Funeral services will be held following visitation at 6:00 pm on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Radney Funeral Home in Mobile with Reverend Daniel Godwin, formerly of Wilmer Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will take place 10:00 am Friday, August 15, at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spanish Fort, Alabama. Arrangements are by Radney Funeral Home.
Dennis was born in Lucedale, Mississippi, to Lamar and Ethel Massey on July 26, 1931. He married Sue Ellen Hoppe on May 5, 1972, in Mobile, Alabama. He served in the Army for 21.5 years, fighting in the Korean and Vietnam Wars, where he was awarded the Bronze Star with Combat “V” for valor, as well as many other campaign and service medals. Following the Army, he worked at Degussa Chemical Company for 17 years. He spent his third career as an award-winning Real Estate Agent for Prudential Cooper/Berkshire Hathaway. Dennis and Sue were active members of Wilmer Methodist Church, the Springhill Stompers Square-dancing Group, and the Korean War Veterans Association.
Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, Lamar and Ethel Massey; his son, Christopher Massey; his sister, Mavis Davis (Douglas); and his wife, Sue Massey.
Dennis is survived by his son, Dennis Massey, his son, Gilbert Massey (Carolyn Irvin); his daughter, Rebecca Finch (Ron); his grandchildren, Frank Carson, Stephun Irvin, Stewart Massey, Bryn Bentley, Jackson Finch, Julia Finch and Christopher Bentley; and his great grandchildren, Hunter Carson, Andrew Carson, Cadence Carson, Shana Carson, Kylie Carson and Paisley Carson.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Massey, Gilbert Massey, Bryn Bentley, Jackson Finch, Christopher Bentley and Ron Finch.
