It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy P. Zoghby, who left us peacefully on October 29, 2024, in Olathe, Colorado, at the age of 96.
Born on March 18, 1928, in Jennings, Louisiana, Dorothy was the beloved youngest child in a family of two brothers and five sisters, all of whom have preceded her in death. Dorothy’s life was a testament to resilience, love, and an enduring spirit that touched all who knew her.
In 1943, Dorothy married John E. Warren. Although their paths diverged in 1952, she carried forward with grace and strength. She later married George Zoghby in 1969, but their union ended in 1974. Despite these changes, Dorothy's unwavering love and dedication to her family were ever-present.
Dorothy was a devoted mother to her daughter, Glenna D. Jackson, and a proud grandmother to Michael C. Jackson, Eric N. Jackson, Monica L. Leatherman, and Angela C. McPeak. She cherished her role as a great-grandmother to three wonderful children and a great-great-grandmother to one precious child.
Her career was marked by dedicated service to the federal government, where she worked with commitment and integrity until her retirement. Dorothy called Mobile, Alabama, her home for most of her life, where her presence and kindness left an indelible mark on the community.
Dorothy had an adventurous spirit, traveling to diverse corners of the world, including Mexico, Russia, India, and Egypt. These experiences enriched her life and broadened her horizons.
Dorothy P. Zoghby will be remembered for her unwavering strength, her loving heart, and the legacy she leaves behind in her family and friends. She will be deeply missed, and her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
A graveside memorial service will be held at the Mausoleum at Pinecrest Cemetery, located at 1939 Dauphin Island Parkway; Mobile, AL 36605 on Friday, November 15, 2024 at 2:30pm, Father James F. Zoghby presiding.
