Earl Edward Lucas

Earl Edward Lucas – an 86 year-old longtime resident of Wilmer passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2012. Mr. Lucas retired from the Millwright’s Union Local 2734 after many years of service and was a World War II veteran of the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Ocie Cooper Lucas, and grandson, Dustin Lamar Hunnicutt. Mr. Lucas is survived by his daughters, Pamela Burns (Eben) and Tina Dionne; brothers, Everett Lucas (Nita) and Walter Lucas; sisters, Mary L. Holmes and Patricia L. Harrison; grandchildren, Gregory Burns (Day), Andrea Burns, Tiffany Lawrence (Kendon), Timothy Hunnicutt, and John Robert Hunnicutt, Jr.; 13 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 6, from 5-8 p.m. Interment will be in Serenity Memorial Gardens.
