Reverend Edgar Mead Davis - A native of Purvis, MS and a resident of Mobile since 1992, died Saturday, August 6, 2011, in a local hospital. Reverend Davis spent over 50 years in the ministry, serving the Lord. He was a U.S. Army Korean war veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Alice Kiracofe Davis and Talmadge Edgar Davis; and his brother, James Madison Davis.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Ann Lovern Davis; three children, Sandy Davis (Jim) Boggs of Lehigh, FL, Greg Mark (Kelly) Davis of Simsbury, CT and Jennifer (Glen) Werneth of Orlando, FL; nine grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Geddy Chapel Cemetery in Jackson, AL at 1:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made in Reverend Davis' name to the Waterfront Rescue Mission, 206 State St., Mobile, AL 36603.
