Edward E. Cowart of Mobile, AL, passed away on January 31, 2026 at the age of 94. Born November 3, 1931, he was the youngest son of Albert Eugene Cowart and Nettie Geneva Cowart. Edward married Flora Louise Massey and enjoyed a long and prosperous marriage until her death in 2017.
Edward was an Army veteran who was full of life, loved to work with his hands and to help people in need, very upbeat and supportive, a joy to be around, he was also a great husband, father, uncle and a friend to those who knew him.
Edward is proceeded in death by his wife, Flora and his parents; his brother, Frank L. Cowart; sisters, Mollie M. Miller and Irma (Toby) Wilson.
He leaves behind his son, Edward C. Cowart and daughter-in-law, Madonna Shields Cowart. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tiffany Nicole Mims and Elijah Robert Cooper. He will be deeply missed by many.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 9, 2026 at 3:00 pm at Pine Crest Cemetery, 1939 Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile, AL.
