Edwin Frank Greenwald, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Merle Anthony Greenwald; sons, Charles Craig Greenwald, Sr., Edwin Frank Greenwald, Jr., parents, Edwin Blieler and Theresa Dannacher Greenwald and brother, Charles Craig Greenwald. Mr. Greenwald was born in Paducah, Kentucky, lived for a few years in Instanbul, Turkey where his father was the Editor in Chief for the Foreign News Corps. He was a graduate of University of Louisville in 1957, where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. Mr. Greenwald served his country honorably in the United States Navy. While serving in the Navy, Mr. Greenwald reached the rank of LTJG. He was a navy pilot flying the Yellow Trainer T28, T34, Whole Tail and V Tail aircrafts, jets and helicopters. He was employed for over 25 years as an FBI Agent and worked several years with the Mobile County Sheriff Department. Mr. Greenwald is survived by his wife, Barbara McDonald Greenwald, daughter; Heather Greenwald Lersch (Matthew), daughters-in-law Maria Greenwald (Craig), and Dolores Greenwald (Edwin, Jr.). He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Rose Greenwald, and beloved grandchildren; Charles Craig “Chad” Greenwald, Jr., Brent Edwin Greenwald, Matthew “Schaeffer” Lersch, Katherine Blieler Lersch and Chandler Ann Lersch, and cherished nieces, nephews, other family and friends. . Visitation will be held on at Corpus Christi Catholic Church on Friday, July 13, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m.
