Elizabeth Dye O'Rourke

Elizabeth “Betty” Dye O’Rourke passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at a local hospital. Mrs. O’Rourke was employed for many years in sales and management in the Mobile area. She attended St. Dominic’s Catholic Church was active in the Telephone Pioneers and several area traveling clubs. She enjoyed her garden and traveling. Mrs. O’Rourke was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard O’Rourke, son, John Dye and grandson, Johnny Shaw. She is survived by four children; Madeline Carter (Bob), Mary Dye, Michael Dye (Joan), Rose Christian (Tom) and step-son Murphy O’Rourke (Sherry). She is also survived by nine grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family members. The family would like to express their thanks to the Lynwood Nursing Home staff for all their love and care of their mother. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 26, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until 11.00 a.m. at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at Highland Cemetery, Hattiesburg at 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
