My condolences to Eric's family, friends and all who he touched. I met Eric at my dock in Sitka so many times in the past 4 years. He would pull over in his weathered  whaler and always parked perfectly and effortlessly next to my boat. We shared so many stories of his life in Sitka and beyond. He impressed me with his worldliness and ability to relate to anyone. I always knew I was talking to someone of great character and kindness. I will miss him dearly, as so many others will too. Cheers to a life lived fully. I am the one in the hat in front of Eric.
