
"Bo" was a graduate of University Military School and a 1959 graduate of Auburn University (API) School of Engineering where he served as vice-president of the Student Government Association. He was a member of Theta Chi, Omicron Delta Kappa and was in the Who's Who among Students in American Universities and Colleges. He was employed by International Paper Company and later went on to own and operate a franchise of L.G. Balfour Company until his retirement. He was an avid fisherman, golfer, outdoorsman and marathon runner. "Bo" was preceded in death by his parents, George Gardner Davidson, Sr. and Rose McKenzie Davidson.
He is survived by his sister, Rosemary Davidson Caldwell; one nephew, George A. (Noel) Caldwell; one niece, Kathryn (Steve) Seckar; one great-niece, Claire (Peter) Chae; one great-nephew, Mark Vasterling; one great-great-nephew, Jacob Peter Chae; his loving and devoted friend, Sheila McKenzie; Sheila's children, Brooks (Amy) McKenzie and Bain Bozeman; and Sheila's grandchildren, Jackson and Shelby McKenzie and South Bozeman. "Bo's" family wishes to express a special thank you to the Orange Beach Fire Department, his caregivers at Heritage Home Care, Patti Heaton, Jackie Brown and Jane Giffin, and to Mrs. Patricia Sullivan and Dr. Martin Lester and his staff for their compassionate care.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Chickasaw United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 1 P.M. until 2 P.M. on Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the AU Foundation for the George G. "Bo" Davidson, Jr. Scholarship Fund, the Orange Beach Volunteer Fire Department or the charity of your choice. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
