Gladies Patricia Kountz, 74, born May 27, 1946 in Richmond, Mississippi, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 in Mobile, Alabama.

Gladies was a loving and devoted mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She graduated from the last class of Semmes High School in 1965.

Gladies was preceded in death by her husband, Travis Downing and her parents, Ethridge Gayron and Della Mae Malone Finlay; sister – in – law, Maudie Finlay.

Surviving are her children, Timothy (Dell) Kountz, Kimberly Norris and Robin (Pat) Cochran. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Rebecca Kountz, Chelsea Kountz, Brandon (Emelia) Norris, Jay (Melanie) Cooper, Michael Coley, Tricia Cochran, Darah Cochran, Misty Kountz, Heather (Bo) Bennett, Candace Kountz, Jessie Kountz, Christopher (Shannon) Jordan, David Gene Pippens, step children, Melissa (Ali) Athar and Sean (Trish)Downing ; 23 great grandchildren; siblings, J.R. Finlay, Troy (Brenda) Finlay and Rebeca Williams.

The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Brandy Weaver for her wonderful care of their mother.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 22, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home, Mobile, AL . Funeral Service will be celebrated in the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. with interment following in Valhalla Cemetery.

The gentlemen serving as pallbearers are: Brandon Norris, John “Jaybird” Cooper, Michael “Mike Mike” Coley, Mathew “Matt Matt” Collins, Jeremiah Cochran and Tray “Tray Man” Finlay. Honorary Pallbearers are: Braydin Kountz, Wyatt Kountz, Jackson Collins, Brandon Calvert, Rhett Cooper, Maddox Norris, Jacoby Booker and Elliot Booker.
