
Helen Veronica Duggan Martin born in Mobile, Al on April 22, 1920, to Ellie Forman Duggan and John Richard Duggan passed away May 11, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Mary Alice “Sissy” Myers (Patrick J.), and her husband of 50 years Bill Martin and many other close friends and family members. She leaves one daughter, Peggy Martin, nieces Charlotte Ann Caminas and Sam Tucker and nephew’s JJ Page (Gayle) and James B. Martin, III, and special friend Shirley Mae Davis. Also, her ‘adopted’ daughters Diane Kercher McInnis and Rhesa Sumrell all of Mobile, and Jan Denardo Chew of San Deigo, Ca. Helen graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School and was a proud member of the Convent of Mercy Class of 1938! She had a long career with the Alabama State Employment Service where she loved her co-workers and loved helping people find jobs. She was a longtime member of St. Catherine’s and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Churches. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, the Rev. J. Francis Sofie officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to Mass. Pallbearers will be; Aubrey McInnis, Gavin Bender, Joe Crow, Kenny Crow, Kevin Williams, Rip Mallini, Steve Woolley, Charlie Miller, Christian Devries, Peter Kalifeh. Honorary Pallbearers will be; John Julius Page, Jr., Dr. James G. Chambers, Dr. Stephen Alsip, Jack Lilley, Hal Meyer, Spring Hill College Volleyball Team.
